Who We Are

Ridge to Reef (R2R) Farm is the heart of VISFI, the first and only USDA organic farm in the USVI. R2R was established 2010 to lead operations of VISFI and establish new programs that will enhance the integrity of our US Virgin Islands. The overarching vision of R2R is to promote peace through living. The premise is that the world's human population all lives in watersheds, which, if protected one at a time, will protect the world and its waters. Thus the mission of Ridge to Reef is to inspire others to become caretakers of their home watershed food systems. The way we do this is to create an interface where students and visitors can experience and enhance the farm and our VI community through organic farming, Community Supported Agriculture, living on solar, and just plain living real. Programs at R2R range from farm volunteering field trips to the Sustainable Farming Pathways and Farm Stays. Markets are weekly in Frederiksted and Christiansted during the winter and spring (www.vi.locallygrown.net). R2R, won the 2011 Environmental Quality Award from the EPA -
the highest honor given to the public.
