VISFI Premier Farmcast: DIY Biofuel with Don Young

As oil prices continue to soar and cumulative environmental effects of petroleum-based fuel degrade quality of life for most of the world, renewable sources of energy are getting more attention than ever. Farmers across the world are seeking innovative means to cut loose of oil dependency for farm operations as a means to success. In this podcast, Don Young, an engineer based in Athens, GA, tells us about his recent biodiesel research and development project at the Virgin Island Sustainable Farm Institute (VISFI). As a multi-generational farmer, Mr. Young explains with a touch of humor the background of economic need for biodiesel, and offers insights on what it takes to “Do It Yourself.”
