The Art of Mentoring with Jon Young

This is a unique program for all of us who are engaged in creating and facilitating learning and community life for ourselves, our families, our projects, our employees or our students. Experiencing the Art of Mentoring program has changed the lives of thousands of people in the US and beyond profoundly for the past decade.
The course will study the structure, philosophy, archetypal elements, values, responsibilities, commitments, and core principles that make up the Eight Shields Mentoring Model. Significant time will be spent exploring Peacemaking traditions and the 36 Cultural Points common to all the different heritages. The week will feature lectures, small-group activities, and opportunities for individual reflection and integration of concepts.

Jon Young is the founder of Wilderness Awareness School and the Regenerative Design Institute. He has spent 25 years studying and applying indigenous ways of mentoring for individuals and groups. He published several books, created the Kamana Naturalist Independent Studies Program and held keynote talks all over the world. The following interviews with him were recorded in preparation of an upcoming movie called “The Great Turning.”
