Work Internship
VISFI is seeking hardworking individuals interested in gaining practical experience in organic gardening, construction, or sustainable systems for its internship program.  Volunteers will be required to work 30 hours per week in exchange for housing.  The program costs $150 per month to cover meals.  An eight week commitment is required.  See also the Ridge to Reef Residency

Apprenticeship
Depending on available space and need, apprenticeship positions will be filled for those seeking a one to two year position. Prior experience in farm work or carpentry/construction is required. Apprentices will have an opportunity to learn valuable skills in organic fruit and vegetable production and marketing, alternative building construction, or small farm management.  Apprentices will work full-time in exchange for room and board. Starting January 2009, all apprenticeship positions will start with the Ridge to Reef Residency

New Internship!
Whole Systems Educational Program Development Internship

Gain work experience in the development, promotion, and on-site management of educational programs in holistic sustainability. Programs will be created that employ a whole systems perspective in community, environmental, and economic development. Program topics range from slow food production, eco-tourism, value-added native arts, to university-accredited study abroad in agriculture and natural resource management. Interns should have strong creative ability and technological skills in document production, media relations, marketing, and writing. A two-month internship with 3 weeks on the island ( free room & board)
