Farm Olympics IV
Farm Olympics: Celebrate Organic Farming
UPDATE ON FARM OLYMPICS IV!
January 2-4, Farm Olympics comes back to VISFI!
Last year’s recap:
The third annual Farm Olympics was a dominated by the Roots Farm on their home turf in Winterville, GA in the 2007-2008 Games. It was a leaf-mulchin’, privet pullin,’ green pickin’, and disk golfin’ time! The Roots farm (lst year’s co-champs with VISFI) and once again VISFI fought tooth and nail to stay on top, while Swansey Farms, Team Humboldt, and Orange Twin joyfully brought up the rear. The Bush Chef competition was bitter sweet, with the secret ingredient being the massive Roots Farm yams. The 2008-2009 games will be expanded to celebrate the community of organic farming as we invite farm teams to come, fellowship, and show their mettle back in the wondrous VISFI campus. If you have farm friends who want to come next year for an affordable fun farmer retreat, contact us at info@visfi.org
.
Many thanks go out to Chris Lutz of the Roots Farm/Athens Roofing for taking the lead in planning and organization for the recent games.
